Miquel Baró, Josep Torrallardona i Martí Salvans opened the first chairlift at the foot of the village of Soldeu in the area called Espiolets. Artificial snow cannons reach the resort in the winter of 1987 this was just shortly behind Pas de La Casa who introduced the 1st snow cannons to the country in 1986.
